Lamy's Aion maintains the Lamy tradition of minimalist style. Here they have crafted the barrel and cap are made of aluminum with a circular brushed finish. The grip section is also made of aluminum and features a matte finish for a slight contrast to the barrel. The grip section is comfortable, and neither slippery nor abrasive.
The stainless steel nib on the Aion is a new design that complements the pen's contoured shape. The stainless steel clip, embossed with the Lamy logo, is spring loaded.
 
The Aion includes one blue ink cartridge and a Z 27 converter for using the pen with bottled fountain pen ink.
