Advanced for its time and featuring a reliable method for filling ink, the Conklin Crescent Filler® attracted attention from many prominent figures of its time. In 1903, renowned American author and humorist, Mark Twain, became the official spokesman for the Conklin brand. In celebration of Conklin's innovative design and Twain's passion for the fountain pen, we are pleased to launch the Mark Twain Demonstrator Crescent Filler®. This limited edition design comes in clear acrylic to display the inner workings and mechanism of the pen’s unique filling system. In order to make this limited edition Demonstrator, new processes were devised, and technical hurdles had to be overcome. Our engineers developed several new methods to create this model to make the material completely transparent, allowing the writer to view the filling mechanism in action. The crystal clear acrylic enables you to see how much ink you have left in your fountain pen so that you are never caught short in writing notes at that important meeting, or when writing letters to loved ones. Accented in a choice of glossy black titanium-coated finish or luxurious rose gold for the clip, trim, and crescent filling mechanism, the Demonstrator brings the original design into the 21st Century. Using today's new technologies and materials, we are able to recreate the original Crescent pen design in a limited edition series to appeal to pen connoisseurs who appreciate the history of the most innovative American pen company. The Mark Twain Demonstrator Crescent Filler is limited to 1,898 numbered pieces worldwide, representative of the year that the Conklin brand was founded. Mark Twain's signature is engraved on the cap band along with the individual limited edition number for each fountain pen.
