*DLC or Diamond Like Carbon, is different from the standard PVD process used on many nibs. The main difference being that instead of spraying on a group of metals, DLC uses a form of carbon. Once the carbon is blasted onto the nib surface, it is cooled down extremely quickly, somewhat similar to how synthetic diamonds are made. DLC is generally tougher and more resistant, a big help when dealing with the compositions of some fountain pen inks on the market! The DLC process is a far more durable and expensive process than the typical PVD found on pen nibs such as the Perkeo.
