Its name has come to represent technical perfection, aesthetic refinement
and the pure pleasure of writing, although it started out as Officina
Meccanica Armando Simoni. What is known today as instrument was the
result of Armando Simoni's spontaneous need for expression, which meticulously,
designed and crafted writing instruments.
Founded in Bologna, Italy during WWI Simoni applied his experience
in precise mechanical engineering to the manufacture of writing instruments.
His creativity, technical knowledge and superior design acumen enabled
him to create new machines and processes for manufacturing pens. He
invented a knurling machine, which engraved facets on pen barrel blanks,
and developed equipment that could cut, shape and polish fountain pen
nibs. And by 1925, his modest OMAS workshop had grown into a state-of-the-art
factory.
The OMAS CELLULOID collection is world-renown for its beauty and quality.
Made from a solid block of celluloid, each pen requires over 300 days
to cure. The results are magnificent color schemes, depth, and translucent
patterns. In fact, no two pens are alike. Beyond aesthetics, OMAS celluloid

durable, for hours of comfortable writing. The celluloid collection
